The Reno comes with a 6.4" display, 48MP+5MP dual rear camera, and a 16MP shark fin-style selfie snapper. The K3, on the other hand, sports a 6.5" screen and boasts a dual camera setup with 16MP and 2MP units. It retains the 16MP selfie camera, but it elevates from the center vertically.

By Sanket Vijayasarathy: Oppo K3 will go on sale for the first time in India today after being announced on Friday. The latest smartphone from Oppo bears a lot of resemblance with the Realme X, right from specifications to pricing. The Oppo K3 touts a notchless Super AMOLED display, pop-up selfie camera, VOOC 3.0 fast charging and Snapdragon 710 processor, among other things and an affordable mid-range price point.
In addition to face unlock, the Oppo K3 also gets an in-display fingerprint sensor. The dual camera setup on the back includes a 16-megapixel f/1.7 main camera and 2-megapixel depth sensor. The pop-up camera mechanism houses a 16-megapixel sensor. The Oppo K3 packs a 3,765mAh battery and supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging. It ships with Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS 6 and supports Dolby Atmos as well.
Chinese phono major OPPO is all set to launch Oppo K3 in India today at 6pm IST. The phone was recently launched in China and boasts of an in-display fingerprint scanner, pop-up selfie shooter and dual cameras at the back. Oppo is widely recognized for its pioneering technology that helps enhance the smartphone experience for consumers and Oppo's new K series is no different. The Oppo K3 launch comes just a day after the company announced the release of the Oppo A9 in the country. The Oppo A9 offers a large 4,020mAh battery and dual rear cameras at the back.
Oppo smartphones are usually known for their cameras, and the K3 is not any different. For optics, the Oppo K3 comes with a 16-MP pop-up selfie camera. At the back, there is a 16-MP primary camera assisted by a 2-MP depth sensor.
By Sanket Vijayasarathy: Oppo launched the Oppo K3 in India on Friday with features and at prices that are quite similar to the Realme X. The Oppo K3 highlights a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, pop-up selfie camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, VOOC 3.0 fast charging and a Snapdragon 710 chipset, which are features that can also be found on the Realme X. This brings us to an important question - which phone should you buy?
Cameras are where the Realme X arguably looks better on paper. While the Oppo K3 brings a 16MP + 2 MP dual camera setup, the Realme X features a 48MP Sony IMX586 main camera with f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP secondary camera for depth. Up front, both the phones offer a 16MP selfie snapper. The Realme X, then, offers a high resolution sensor that is a major trend this year.
Going by the specs on paper alone, the Oppo K3 and Realme X are quite alike. They offer similar premium designs, notchless AMOLED displays and pop-up cameras. They also get the same SD710 chipset and battery capacity. However, the Realme X seems to get an edge in the camera department thanks to its 48MP dual camera setup. The Realme X also comes with 128GB of internal storage for the base variant which is twice as much as what the Oppo K3 offers. These are a few points to keep in mind as the two phones go on sale for the first time this week.
Oppo has launched a new smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display in China, dubbed Oppo K3. Along with this, the company has also launched its VOOC Flash Charge and Super VOOC Flash Charge power banks and car chargers.
The device features a dual camera setup on the back consisting of a 16MP primary sensor paired with a 2MP secondary depth sensor. On the front, it sports a motorised pop-up selfie camera with a 16MP sensor for taking selfies.
Oppo took it to Weibo to announce the date of Oppo K3 with a pop-up selfie camera. Unlike past rumours, the Oppo K3 would come with a motorised camera like the F11 Pro. Previous reports speculated that the Oppo K3 would have a wedge-like camera found on Oppo Reno devices.
The poster also reveals that Oppo K3 would have a gradient finish with curved corners. At the back is a dual camera setup with LED flash and the vertical Oppo branding. While the design has been revealed, we would have to wait for the official launch to get details on the internals.
The phone will come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 91.1% screen-to-body ratio and DC dimming along with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Powering the phone will be the Snapdragon 710 10nm processor with 6GB RAM and 128GB with UFC 2.1 storage. It is said to come with a 16-megapixel pop-up front camera that opens in 0.74 seconds.
For photography, Oppo K3 sports a dual-camera setup of 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. It has a 16-megapixel pop-up camera for selfies. The smartphone features 'Ultra Night Mode 2.0' for low-light photography.
Asus 6z (review) takes the Galaxy A80 approach with a rotating pop-up mechanism to use a single panel of 48MP (f/1.79)+ 13MP (wide-angle) duo as both front and rear cameras. Thanks to the flip module, you get a 6.4-inch Full HD+ full-view IPS LCD display with 92-percent screen-to-body ratio. This screen is shielded by Gorilla Glass 6.
The quad-camera system on the rear has dual OIS and is capable of recording 8K footage. The camera array includes an 8MP zoom camera with 3X optical zoom and up to 30X hybrid zoom. The front 20MP sensor resides in a motorized pop-up slider.
Realme X (review), powered by Snapdragon 710, is the cheapest phone with a pop-up camera in this list. This module houses a 16MP (f/2.0) Sony IMX-471 pop-up camera which Realme touts to work in just 0.72 seconds.
Vivo later also introduced a relatively cheaper V15 that employs a MediaTek chipset (Helio P70), replaced AMOLED screen with an IPS LCD panel, has a regular rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint reader, but retains a pop-up selfie camera.
The latest phone in this list is the Oppo K3. Starting at price of Rs 16,990 and going all the way up to Rs 19,990, the K3 is a device that not only looks premium but also works like one. From the decision to equip it with a Type-C port to the inclusion of pop-up selfie camera, Oppo has also taken every possible measure to make sure the Oppo K3 looks and feels as modern as anything in the market.
The frame of the phone houses the K3's power button on the right, while the volume buttons of the device are placed on the left. There's a 3.5mm jack, a Type-C port and cut out for a speaker grille on the bottom of the frame, while the upper side of it houses the module for a pop-up selfie camera.
Because of the selfie camera of the device being placed on a pop-up module, the front of the phone has been left blemish-less with close to no bezels on it. There's a slight chin to the display, but that's also not something which takes too much away from the edge-to-edge design of the phone.
Surprisingly, the rear camera setup on the device is one of the strong points of the Oppo K3. For imaging capabilities, Oppo K3 gets a 16-megapixel pop-up selfie camera, a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with an aperture size of f/1.7 and a 2-megapixel depth sensor at the back.
When Vivo launched the V15 Pro in India, it was the only phone under Rs 30,000 to offer a pop-up selfie camera and in-display fingerprint scanner. However, a lot has changed in the Indian smartphone industry after the Vivo V15 Pro launch. We now have pop-up selfie camera phones under Rs 15,000 and they also ship with in-display fingerprint scanners. For example, the Realme X and the Oppo K3 are priced at Rs 16,990, and they offer in-display fingerprint scanner, AMOLED screen, pop-up selfie camera and big batteries too. Considering these phones, the Vivo V15 Pro seems to be an overpriced one, however, the fact that it's available in the offline market for masses is worth considering. The Realme X and Oppo K3 are online-only phones, for now.
The Vivo V15 Pro sports impressive specs for an upper mid-range smartphone and it takes on the Samsung Galaxy A70 with its spec-sheet. The handset has a 6.39-inch FullView display with Full HD+ resolution and a pop-up selfie camera. Underneath, it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 675 chipset which we have seen on the likes of Redmi Note 7 Pro, Galaxy M40 and the Galaxy A70. The phone has a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor which effectively is a 12MP sensor, but uses pixel binning technology to get 48MP shots. The device also rocks a 8MP wide-angle shooter and a 5MP depth sensor, alongside having a 32MP front-facing camera.
Geared towards the mid-range market the OPPO K3 comes with all the modern competitive features. It boasts of an AMOLED screen, in-display fingerprint scanner, VOOC 3.0 charging, and most saliently the pop-up selfie camera.
The OPPO K3 aligning with the latest trend also packs a pop-up selfie camera that encloses a 16MP sensor. While on the rear side it wields a two-camera setup, consisting of a 16MP primary sensor and 2MP depth sensor.
All things considered, the OPPO K3 will face a tough challenge from the Realme X, which appears a replica of the former in terms of specs and features such as the same processor, AMOLED display, 16MP pop-up selfie camera, same size battery as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner. 2ff7e9595c
