FYI - just installed the latest version of SlySoft's Virtual Clone drive on Win 2008 R2. Fully working without a reboot in just a few seconds! I've been using VCD for years without any issues and greatly prefer it over magiciso or daemontools (which I do have installed and in use on a few servers). - Jeremy

Microsoft releases new security updates for its products at least once a month. In most cases, the Windows Update service does an excellent job of downloading and installing Windows updates automatically. You can also manually download and install the latest cumulative security update for your Windows version (build). For example, on computers with the wususerv service disabled, on disconnected environments (if you are not using a WSUS server where you can manually test and approve Windows updates), on a local network with a metered connection, etc. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle []).push();

I am trying to add a USB 3 driver to SBS 2011. I have an Intel server board S1200SPL that requires the image to have USB 3 to run the setup. Without it there is no mouse or keyboard access once the setup process is installed. I have downloaded the driver from the Intel site. When I add the driver it fails with error 5. How do I debug this?

Hi,how can I inject strorage driver into a existing capture image? When I try to boot via WDS server, the local drive does not show up. I have a Dell Optiplex 7050. Storage controller: IRST Sata contolller and Standard NVM Express Contoller.

Hello, I bought a new hp proliant ml10 gen9 server for my company to install Windows server 2008 standard and sap netwear but during installation process the mouse and keyboard hangs even though it works well in bios. I tried installing windows server 2012 and it worked fine. I did my little research why my keyboard and mouse hangs when installing 2008 and got to understand that my server came with USB 3.0 chip which was missing in 2008 and the only solution was for me to inject the driver into my iso (install. Wim and boot. Wim) I have tried different methods on driver injection online but was only able to mount the image, get an error:50 when trying to add drivers. Funny enough I was able to Inject usb 3.0 drivers into windows server 2008 R2 but need Windows server 2008 standard edition. So is any solution out there on how to inject usb 3.0 drivers into windows server 2008 standard?

This is a set of best practices to follow when installing a Windows Server 2008 R2 guest on a Proxmox VE server 2.x (2.3 at time of writing). Right now it's a work in progress but hopefully soon it will be a comprehensive and reliable document. Please feel free to add to it, even if just to pose a potential best practice.

  • It took me more than 10 hours to download Windows 7 Beta from Technet. Downloading Windows Server 2008 R2 was even slower. However, the download was much faster from the Download Center. As I write this, it is impossible to download Windows 7 Beta from the official download site. It seems as if the interest in Windows 7 Beta is greater than it was for the beta version of Vista. The download via Torrent is significantly faster. I wonder why Microsoft doesn't use this technology to distribute software. The problem with such unofficial downloads is that there is always the risk of getting a manipulated file that contains malware. Thus, I usually prefer to wait a little longer to be on the safe side. The Web Installer is the easiest way to install Nextcloud on a web space. It checks the dependencies, downloads Nextcloud from the official server, unpacks it with the right permissions and the right user account. Finally, you will be redirected to the Nextcloud installer.

1. Mount the ISO image with the installer of VMware Tools to the VM running Solaris similarly as shown for Linux VMs above. If the image cannot be mounted automatically, download and mount the installation ISO image for Solaris to the VM manually.

1. Insert a virtual ISO disk image that contains the VMware Tools installer into a virtual DVD drive of a VM. In the current example, Windows Server 2008 R2 (x64) is running on the VM on which VMware Tools will be installed.

As you recall, ISO images with VMware Tools installers are located on an ESXi host in the /vmimages/tools-isoimages/ directory. If ISO images are missing on your ESXi host, you can download and install VMware Tools Offline VIB Bundle on your ESXi host. This bundle contains a new release of VMware Tools for supported guest operating systems. You can also copy ISO images from your local computer to that directory on the ESXi host by using an SCP client manually. 2ff7e9595c
